Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. What is the qualification for doing six sigma?

There is no minimum qualification for doing six sigma courses from MST-ISL, as these are professional certifications and not degrees from universities.  ASQ prescribes – years of experience in quality.

MST-ISL BB upgrade (online course) can be done by students who have completed IQF GB Certification.

2. Can I do Black Belt course directly?

The Body of Knowledge (BoK) of Black Belt includes complete Green Belt BoK and additional topics.  For example 56% of ASQ CSSBB is same as ASQ CSSGB.

MST-ISL Six Sigma courses are modular in design and there is no overlap between GB and BB courses.  ISL offers Black Belt upgrade course for IQF Certified Green Belts.  Direct Black Belts will go through the combined courses.

3. Which of the BoKs is better – ASQ or IQF?

ASQ BoK covers wide range of topics and helps develop breadth of the subjects.  Typical list includes DMAIC, DFSS, Lean, Benchmarking, Taguchi, TRIZ, Facilitation and Team Building etc.

IQF BoK covers few topics in greater depth.  Typical list includes distributions, MSA, ANOVA, Project Management, DoE etc.

MST-ISL courses places greater emphasis on applications.

IQF certification is free with MST-ISL Online six sigma courses.  Doing project is optional for IQF Green Belt certification.  IQF Black Belt certification requires 2 projects.
